WHAT'S ON

green stage

the green-stage is the festival's central, outdoor stage and will be hosting the most diverse line-up of talent that any of our stages have to offer. everything from blues rock, to acoustic ska with a beatboxing twist; from haunting, piano-led balladry to foot-stomping folk: you'll find something for everyone on here.

acoustic marquee

the acoustic marquee has always been incredibly popular, with some festival-goers barely leaving it for the whole weekend. this year we have another incredible line-up of local talent, along with the odd troubadour from slightly further afield; all here to sing their hearts out with the raw, stripped-back passion that acousic-based music so perfectly exposes.

rock stage

one of the biggest changes to the festival format this year will see the addition of a rock and indie marquee, which is being co-run by local promoters Club Blub and Rhodes Rocks. this new stage will feature a diverse array of new musical talent from both the local area and much further afar; the kind of bands currently grabbing attention from NME, Xfm and, more importantly, the growing live music scene in Stortford.

arts marquee

for the 3rd year running, there'll be an arts marquee complementing the music and festival atmosphere with community projects, drama, dancing, storytelling and crafts such as lantern making, junk percussion instruments, mobiles and kites: the whole family is catered for! we also have a range of FREE workshops to encourage everyone not just to watch and listen, but to have a go themselves.

beer tent & sessions

as you’d expect, no festival would be complete without a beer tent, and the Stortford Music Festival is no different with a marquee allowing punters to enjoy drinks including a specially brewed festival ale and Mill Whites Organic Cider. as well as being a place to socialise and drink in the festival atmosphere, the beer tent will also host an open mic session. so if you're a budding musician, remember to bring along an instrument and sign-up to take part.

viva la festival!

other attractions at this year’s bash include a selection of stalls offering everything from arts and crafts to fair-trade lunches, CDs, toys and clothes; a sculpture installation from two of the regions most prominent artists; a chill-out tent to allow festival goers the chance to relax and wind down to the soothing sounds of ambient DJs; and a stand-up comedy show compered by Stortford’s resident comedy writer and performer John Mann, who'll also be offering budding stand-ups the chance to have a go themselves during a special open mic session in the beer tent.
