WHAT'S ON

Main Stage
We'll be building a larger stage than seen in previous years from which we'll showcase our biggest headliners to date. The main-stage will be the festival's central, outdoor stage and will be hosting the most diverse line-up of talent that any of our stages have to offer; you'll find something for everyone on here! Hang around here for THE BLOCKHEADS, CHRIS DIFFORD (SQUEEZE), THE PINS, GARRISON FINISH and LOADS more...

Acoustic Marquee
The Alan Baker Acoustic Marquee has always been incredibly popular, with some festival-goers barely leaving it for the whole weekend. This year we have another incredible line-up of local talent, along with the odd troubadour from slightly further afield; all here to sing their hearts out with the raw, stripped-back passion that acousic-based music so perfectly exposes. Expect fine performances from the likes of EZIO, BOO HEWERDINE, THE JAMIE FALLON BAND and THE JJ ZARBO EXPERIENCE.

Rock Stage
Last year's new addition, the Rock Stage saw a packed crowd enjoying eclectic sets from some of the greatest bands around. Once again this tent will see an awesome line-up of hotly tipped acts that are sure to get the crowd dancing and screaming for more; a large portion of the kind of bands currently thriving in the ever-expanding local music scene. This is the place for storming sets by BICYCLE THIEVES, I DREAM IN COLOUR, MORNING PARADE, ANGRY VS. THE BEAR AND Road-To-V winners THE LAST REPUBLIC.

Arts Stage
The Arts area sees somewhat of an over-haul this year as another part of our festival expands! A dedicated stage will host performances from local singing, drama and dancing groups, showcasing the range of talent from children to adults, that we have in the area. There will be a chance to join in too. Have a go at African drumming or Rock and Roll dancing, take part in a drama workshop with Actability or sing along with Herts and Soul, our new community choir.

Children's Tent
Children can enjoy their own area at the Festival with crafts and parachute games from Youth Create, storytellers, pirate and fairy fun and treasure hunts. Dress up as a pirate and take part in the colourful and noisy procession 'Pirates on Parade' on Sunday afternoon.

The Black Pig Tavern
As you’d expect, no festival would be complete without a beer tent, and the Stortford Music Festival is no different with a marquee allowing punters to enjoy drinks including a special locally brewed festival ale and locally sourced cider. But it's far more than just a beer tent, it's the place to be to catch the great, the good and the downright bizarre, featuring special guest artists throughout the weekend on the Cluzion Club stage: John Mann’s Comedy Hour with stand-up from Tiernan Douieb and Hal Cruttenden; interactive artworks and reserved open mic slots for anyone quick enough to sign up on the day. So if you want to be part of the scene, remember to bring along an instrument and sign-up early to take part.

Market Area
A larger selection of stallholders and traders will be populating the festival site this year, a selection offering everything from arts and crafts to fair-trade lunches, CDs, toys and clothes; a chill-out tent to allow festival goers the chance to relax and wind down to the soothing sounds of ambient DJs.
